Philippe Goulet Coulombe
Professeur of econometrics
Departement of Economics, ESG, UQAM
My research covers machine learning, applied macroeconomics, time-series econometrics, finance, and climate modeling. My work aims to bridge artificial intelligence and economics by developing learning algorithms adapted to the specificities of macroeconomic and financial data, with a particular focus on interpretability in a time-series context.
I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and serve as an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Forecasting. My research has been published in journals such as the Journal of Econometrics, the Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, the Journal of Applied Econometrics, and the Journal of Climate. I am also a SUERF Fellow, an affiliated member of the Chair in Macroeconomics and Forecasting, and of the Centre de recherche sur l’intelligence en gestion de systèmes complexes (CRI2GS).
