My main research interest concerns the analysis of decision-making under uncertainty. My methodological approach is a combination of machine learning, probabilistic modeling and operations research. I am working on a range of applications, including transportation planning, humanitarian logistics, precision medicine, healthcare logistics and the evaluation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
In another research direction, I work on modeling physical phenomena by discrete stochastic processes such as last-pass percolation and exclusion processes. These models have recently received a great deal of attention in the context of KPZ universality theory.
