For over 17 years, her research has focused on the governance and instruments of urban policies, as well as their contribution to the coherence and integration of urban planning and transport strategies. Her work also addresses the consideration of social inequalities within the fields of sustainable transport and mobility.

Professor Paulhiac Scherrer is now the chairholder of the new International Chair on the Uses and Practices of the Smart City (2020-2025).
