My research interests focus on two main areas: the integration of operational decisions with production decisions, and the impact of the use of information technologies in traditional operational problems. Concerning the integration of operational decisions, I’m interested in the integration of distribution and replenishment decisions with production decisions. Production decisions are important, but taken without regard to their impact on replenishment and distribution, they can jeopardize the company’s equilibrium. With this in mind, I develop models and resolution algorithms to optimize these integrated problems. As far as the use of technology is concerned, I’m interested in the impact of new technologies on classical operations research problems. New technologies give us access to much more information, sometimes in real time, and this information can be put to good use to offer value-added services. This brings about a paradigm shift that I’m investigating by modeling and developing resolution algorithms, once again based on operational research tools.
